FR110 programmable room thermostat

Control your heating system intelligently and save up to 11% off fuel bills

Worcester Greenstar CDi gas condensing boiler

With boilers becoming increasingly efficient it makes sense to look at the rest of your heating system.

With energy prices set to continue rising for the foreseeable future, now is the opportunity to focus on controlling your boiler with an intelligent controller.

Controls allow you to monitor your room temperature, when you want the boiler to come on and off therefore only using the boiler when you need to.

Types of controls available

Room thermostats

These devices allow you to constantly measure the air temperature of a space and allow you to set your desired room temperature with easy to use functions.

When the temperature falls below the setting the thermostat switches the boiler central heating function on (providing the timer or programmer on the boiler is switched on) and then turns off when the desired room temperature is achieved.

Programmable room thermostats

You can choose different temperatures at different times of the day, that you want your home to be heated.

As your home is maintained at a warm level even when your central heating would be off, you benefit from continuous comfort and fuel savings associated with not heating your house from cold.

Programmers

These plug into the boiler and allow you to switch you heating on and off to suit your needs.

Twin channel programmers control the time settings for hot water as well as heating.

Optimising programmers

These sophisticated energy saving devices work by monitoring how long it takes to heat up your home over different time periods for each day of the week.

It then calculates when it needs to fire the boiler to precisely achieve the required temperature at the required time each day.

Weather compensation controllers

These controllers could save you up to 11% off your energy bills.

It works by having a sensor that is placed outside the property, normally on a north facing wall, and enables the boiler to anticipate changes in heating demand in relation to external temperatures.

They also include a manual override to boost or reduce the heating if and when required.

These are also ideal to integrate with solar installations.

Thermostatic radiator valves

The radiators in your home should be fitted with Thermostatic Radiator Valves (TRVs) which will enable you to control the temperature of each room individually.

As well as helping to maintain your comfort levels at different times of the day, TRVs also provide a simple means of reducing running costs.
