Ground source heat pumps
Ground Source Heat Pump explained
A ground source heat pump is an electrically powered system that uses the natural energy stored in the earth to heat your home.
By sinking collectors into the ground they draw the energy from the earth and convert into heat for radiators and underfloor heating.
This is done by using a similar principle to those of a domestic fridge and the latent energy is released into the heating circuit of the property.
This allows temperatures taken from the earth to be boosted to a useful level for the provision of home heating and hot water.
For every single kilowatt of electricity used to power the ground source heat pumps, this system could generate four kilowatts or more in energy for your home
