Environment 2020

Lower Trevorder Barn, Cornwall

Worcester's Environment 2020 Awards are intended to celebrate and promote activities dedicated to conserving the environment for future generations

Initially launched in 2000 as the Environment 2010 awards, they were recently renamed to reflect the landmark year set by the UK government to reduce carbon emissions by 20%.

Worcester's Environment 2020 Awards are intended to celebrate and promote activities dedicated to conserving the environment for future generations. Worcester has a clear Environmental Policy and aims at every opportunity to focus attention on the critical need to conserve non-renewable energy resources and minimise environmental damage.

The Self-build category of the Environment 2020 Awards seeks to encourage and reward energy-efficient installations of Worcester's products. By sending in a completed entry form, you could be in with a chance of winning £1000 worth of leisure vouchers.

Install any new energy-efficient domestic central heating boiler or renewable product from Worcester's range as part of your self-build project and you'll be well on the way to satisfying the criteria of the Worcester Environment 2020 Awards.

You could choose an oil, gas or LPG condensing combi or regular boiler and you may be using your boiler in conjunction with a solar water heating system, ground source heat pump or air source heat pump in order to provide environmentally friendly energy for your home.

The judges will be looking for projects which are having the widest possible impact on the local environment.

Quarterly awards

Each quarter, the scheme considered to be the best from an environmental viewpoint will win a great prize - a Bosch domestic appliance worth up to £500
